Why is DT Max calculating the 2005 Quebec child support payment estimates erroneously?

This calculation is inaccurate in the following circumstances:

  • The child was born in 1986: DT Max grants an amount even though none should be awarded.

  • The child was born in 1987: DT Max grants an amount based on a 12-month period even though only the months during which the child was under the age of 18 are eligible.

If the keyword group Income-Hist contains historical information for years prior to 2003, DT Max sometimes uses the taxpayer's net income from the oldest year in the history (e.g. 2000) in the calculation of the family income for 2003 rather than the net income from 2003. The same goes for the spouse's income.

Note that if the only historical information available in the file is from 2003, the calculation is peformed correctly.
